Some of the old Viking photos from the late 1970's WOULD HAVE shown nice bluish sunsets too, but they never had modern image processing techniques and computing power applied to them... until recently.

i remember when they showed the "first color picture from mars" taken by viking1 on the news. As I recall, my first thought was: The sky is blue!. then later the picture was rereleased "color-corrected", and the sky was pinkish.
