The coin in the center is a US one-cent piece: from 1849, to be specific. To the left is its Mexican denominational equivalent - un centavo - minted in 1888.

That 1849 cent has very little wear: Heh, think of all the miner-49'ers with those when they were new! Nice story, too (you know I love coins!) :o)
