Golden Anniversary

Walt Disney's "Bambi" was released 74 years ago today, but I missed a more personal related anniversary earlier in 2016. This past April marked 50 years since I first saw "Bambi" in the theater. (Actually the only time I've seen it on the big screen ( Read more... )

I admit, for me, you'll always be the one who let me be Vicky Rabbit a couple times. ^_^ Oh, so much fun! Not as easy as Red, with even more constrained ventilation, but the character just washes over you.. ^_^ Whilst that won't happen again, I'm making plans for further leporine fun.. but that's not a short term project. =:)

Discovering furrydom, especially back then - but even now, too! - is such a fabulously liberating experience, realising there are others who think all this is amazing too.

Do you still have a fun cinema locally? So many seem to be just cookie cutter multiplexes now, where you could step out and be almost anywhere in the world. (Oh, if only! =:) My favorites have to remain the Castro (though the organ remains a work in progress, with its old time replacement still under construction, being quite a unique instrument), and the Little, in Bath, tucked quite implausibly into a Georgian house - the upper screen is reached via a tight square stairway - right in the heart of the town.

We had an art cinema locally for many years, but it closed awhile back. However, I saw in the paper recently that it will be reopening soon...and serving BEER!

Those kind of 'full-service' cinemas are apparently growing in popularity. Not only serving beer and offering better movie experiences, but even stuff akin to table service. Beer, actual meals instead of just what you can find at concessions (wings, celery sticks and bleu cheese dressing for something like $10, according to one podcaster I listen to that gets to take advantage in Salt Lake City, for one thing), and even places bringing back intermissions for especially long films. It's fascinating, honestly, for a young buck like myself.

You'll be remembered for a whole hell of a lot more than just Bambi for me! *hugs tight* If only I had the words to explain it to you.

I wish I had been able to see it in theaters. If they ever release it in theaters again I won't miss it.

Bambi is the most wonderful thing I've discovered in my life, I'm so happy you came along to share your love of him with me too.

Thank you so much for your very kind words, Kat. Your last sentence reflects my own personal feelings, as well...

Hey, I finally got one of those fawn 'body pillows'! He is the best, most cuddliest deer plush ever made! And HUGE! I'll be writing a review of him over this weekend. ^^

I wanted one of those so badly! Sadly I won't be able to get one I don't think, my money situation isn't so good. But I'm so glad you did get one, I'd love to hear more about it! What did you name yours? They look positively incredible.

*hugs tight*
