I had the time of my life in Hawaii. I figure I need to update soon, while its fresh in my mind, because there's so much about it I do not want to forget.
We left our house at 7:30, and I took my first airplane ride to Maui, then we took another plane to Oahu. Flying was pretty much how I imagined it to be, except more boring. The thrill was gone after about 10 minutes. In Oahu we spent most of our time in the ocean. It was so warm, and body surfing in the waves was so much fun. One of the times we were out there we were only yards away from a seal, it was really cool. We also went to the Polynesian Cultural Center, which was amazing. We spent all day there, first walking around and watching little mini shows about 7 different islands. Then we went to a luau. The pig was so tasty. After the luau there was a big show, with big performances to represent each island. The last one was Samoa, which had fire dancing, it was so amazing. The whole thing was really cool, yet exhausting. There was a lot to take in, we were there from 1030AM to about 11PM, and it took us a long time to adjust to Hawaii's time difference. Its only three hours earlier than Oregon. The majority of the time we were in bed by 10 and up at 6, it was quite unusual for us.
After four days in Oahu, we flew to Maui, where my Grandma's condo is. The condo she has is incredible. Its bigger than our house, and so close to the beach. And right next to the hotel pool is a restaurant with really good food. We spent most of our time there at the pool, drinking, playing cards at night and shopping.
We went into the ocean the first day in Maui, and the waves were so wimpy and choppy that we were kinda disappointed, and took a liking to the pool. But on the last day, we thought we'd go in one last time. This time, the waves were huge! It didnt even seem like the same ocean. They kicked our asses. Lyndsay actually ended up dislocating her knee and cutting her foot pretty bad. It was seriously insane, the waves were taking us down like bowling pins.
We celebrated my birthday in Maui. It was sooo much fun. We started the day by going out for breakfast and mimosas. They were strong, and after two I was feeling pretty good. They gave me a free slice of delicious peach cheesecake. Then we spent some time out by the pool, then went to on a sunset cocktail cruise, with unlimited drinks. We saw dolphins swimming next to the boat, and there was an amazing sunset. It was really cool. After that we went to dinner at Bubba Gumps. I love that restaurant, the people that work there are so much fun and the food was so good and with certain drinks you get to keep the cup(!) And for my birthday, our waiter brought out a blowjob shot, which I had to take without my hands. It was really delicious, best blowjob I ever had... and first one really.... since I'm not really on the receiving end of blowjobs... Anyways, after that we were all pretty drunk and tired so we went to bed.
In retrospect, I wish I would have went out drinking more, because I wasn't the drunkest I've ever been, like I was hoping to be, but it was still really fun and at the time I was sooo ready for bed. Ashley and I made up for it the next day by going to the restaurant by our hotel pool's happy hour. We got there at 4:15, and happy hour ended at 5, so we tried to get as many mai tais as could in us in 45 minutes. We ended up drinking four each, which, if you know me, is a lot. So I was so very drunk by 5, and continued to drink coconut rum and POG once we got back to the room. Then, later Lyndsay, Ashley and I went back to the restaurant for dessert, we got another mai tai, and they brought us out another blowjob shot, because I wanted another one, becuase it was so yummy. We told em about how it was my birthday the day before, and they gave me my dessert and shot for free, so that was pretty awesome. I think that may have been the drunkest I've ever been, if not, it was certainly up there.
I really like being 21, though I'm sure the thrill will go away soon. But let me tell you, happy hours are the best ever. It was really nice having Ashley around for my 21st, because shes been a bartender and she knew what I would and wouldn't like. Though I think I'm starting to be able to drink stronger drinks, the taste doesn't disgust me as much as it used to. I still don't think I could stand drinking beer though.
We got back to Oregon at like 10:30 at night, but it was 7:30 Hawaii time, so I was still kinda wired. So I ended up going to Neth's and staying the night there. Then headed back to Eugene around 11, and arrived to a scavenger hunt from Kate and Kelley. It was so cute, they hid little presents and "coupons" around the apartment, then Micah joined us and we went to the best Mexican food place ever. Then we came back to our place and drank and hung out. It was a lot of fun. I love my friends.
Being away for eleven days was really nice, I dunno, it feels like I haven't really been on a real vacation like that in a long time, I felt so refreshed and happy when I came home, but that thrill is leaving now that I'm getting ready for school to start in three freaking days. And I have to work 19.5 hours the first week of school, which is a lot (i have more hours than any other student in Pre K), but its just for this week, until the new people get hired, and settled.
It was really weird coming back to work. We have so many kids from Pre School in our class now and the whole classroom was rearranged, and the schedule is a little different as well. And the boy that would always sit on my lap (Hunter) is in school age now. I miss him! His mom talked to be about babysitting, so hopefully I'll get to do that soon, I need a Hunter-fix... I hope my future kids are as cuddley as that kid. Even though its different, I'm sure that I'll love these kids just as much as the ones that left. I just noticed today that I haven't had to break up a single physical fight yet, so I'm thinking this is going to be a pretty good group.
Okay this is long winded enough, I'm going to Kelley's now. I'll probably post some pictures tomorrow or sometime soon.
