Since I now I have a handful of new friends I thought it would be a good idea to have a 'About Me' post (inspired by banana7pancakes  very own post). So here we go!

The super basics
Name: Whitney
Age: 24
Also: I have a dog, Penelope aka Pennie who is a Border Collie mix, and two cats, Charlie a grey and white male and Georgia a little calico female.

Family
My family is a huge part of my life! Between my Mom & Dad, my three sisters and brother, my biological Dad and Step-mom, and my in-laws my husband and I spend a good part of our free time visiting relatives. I can’t complain though because I love them all and even though they can be a pain in the ass I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

Friends
Sadly, I am at that stage in my life where all of my best friends and I have finished school (or are close to it) and are now all doing COMPLETELY different things. One was recently off teaching in London England, another works at a fancy hotel spa in Banff Albert, and the other is just finishing school and is thinking about going to Japan to teach English, while I did the opposite (got married and bought a house). This means that we are usually to never in the same place at the same time except for one or two times a year. But I still love them dearly and try to talk whenever we can. I also have two ‘newer’ college friends that I work with on occasion. They’re my buds, my ladies, my crazy enablers. :D

And of course I love all of my fandom friends! I’ve found some real kindred spirits out there in the world wide web and I am always open to making more.

Getting personal
Height: 5'7".
Hair: Brown. Au Naturel. I used to dye my hair all the time as a teen but then I got sick of worrying about roots and went back to my natural colour. You only have so many years where you can get away without colouring so why not take advantage of that?
Eyes: Brown/Green.
Scars/tattoos/piercings: I have pierced ears… no tattoos yet, but I do want one eventually. I have one pretty large scar on my leg from melted plastic which I got when I was 4.
Religion: I grew up as a Jehovah’s Witness so I was raised to believe in God and Jesus and I still hold that part of my life dear… however I don’t really believe in the organised religion aspect of it. I truly think there is a higher power, I think life is too complex to just be random and yet I’m not sure I believe in God as He’s described in the bible. I don’t think it matters so much what you believe in… but that you believe in something.
Accent: I don’t think I have one… but if I did it would be Canadian. Ontarian to be exact.
If you are unclear on what that is… see clip

My mother totally does the donkey thing!!

Relationship: I’ve been with the same wonderful man for six years now… and married to him for two.

School stuff
Highest level of education: I graduated from a three year Fine Arts course at my community college.
Future plans: I originally wanted to get my BA of Fine Arts afterwards but after speaking to a few local artists I realized it’s not really needed unless you want to teach. And I don’t.

Favorites
Color: Lime Green

Food: Lasagne, Turkey and Stuffing, Vegetables (my family was always BIG on veggies), Salt Beef and Cabbage dinner aka Jig’s dinner (It’s a Newfoundland thing…and delicious!)

Drink: Tea! It’s always my first choice and in my family that was always the first question when guests came over… Would you like a tea? Honestly if my kettle broke I think I would cry.

Animal: Giraffe is my ultimate favourite animal. We can’t go to the zoo without seeing them. They are so odd looking and huge and yet amazingly graceful. If I could be any animal it would be a giraffe.

Place to go: Antique malls and shops. I could browse them forever and never get bored. I like to frequent my local antique mall usually every couple of months and there are always new things to see and discover. I love them so much that for my last birthday my dad took me to some of the places around his cottage and we spent the day browsing crap. Lol! But I always find a treasure buried beneath that crap.

Book: Stone Diaries-Carol Shields, Anne of Green Gables- LM Montgomery, The Thirteenth Tale- Diane Setterfield, The Birth House- Ami McKay, Sense and Sensibility-Jane Austen, Drowning Ruth- Christina Schwarz, HP Series especially The Prisoner or Azkaban-JR Rowling, the Glass Castle-Jeannette Walls.
Not in any particular order or anything, just really great books that I always recommend to those that haven’t read them yet.

TV show: I’m pretty sure my favourite show of all time is Friends. Me and my husband have the entire series on DVD and we watch them ever two years or so. And even though we’ve seen certain episodes 50 times they never get old.

Movie: Since this list could go on forever I will just name the ones I could watch over and over and OVER again and never get tired of them. Labyrinth, Clue, Overboard, Housesitter, First Wives Club, About a Boy, Two Weeks Notice, One Fine Day, The Family Stone, White Christmas, While You Were Sleeping, Love Actually, Anne of Green Gables trilogy, You've Got Mail, Fools Rush In, Breakfast Club, Breakfast at Tiffanys, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Jane Austen Book Club, Jurassic Park 1 and 2, Talladega Nights, Knocked Up, Superbad, The Hangover, I Heart Huckabees, Stranger Than Fiction, 10 things I Hate About You and How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days.
(I also LOVE Disney movies. Robin Hood, Winnie the Pooh, Sword and the Stone, and Jungle Book are my favourites)

Subject: Art has always been my favourite. Other than that I loved history and geography. I SUCKED at math and still really do.

Couple: No one will ever beat Anne/Gilbert for me. Some come close but I will always love this couple the most.

Clothing: Warm cuddly socks with fun things on them. I always ask for socks every birthday and Christmas. I also love mittens and scarves. I will break out the mittens and scarves sometimes as early as September and where them well into April… sometimes even May depending on the kind of year we have. I love to be warm and snuggly. Other than that I am a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. I like layers, so I usually where a tank, a tee, a cardigan and a sweater. Lol!

Season: Autumn. There is something about it that makes me feel in tune with nature. My senses come alive. I love that crisp fall air that nips at your cheeks and nose but doesn’t make you cold. I just think its such a romantic time and its usually brings out the nostalgic side of me.

Candy: I like gummy candies…gummy worms, gummy bears, fuzzy peaches, sour patch kids… I will usually go for those first before I go for chocolate. But if there is anything involving toffee or maple I am all over them above all else.

Quote: " Do you guys know what a funny word is? PICKLE WEASLE! - Kelso, That's 70's Show
"This ostritch thinks I'm a lady!" - Spencer, iCarly
"Who is Josh Groban?! Kill yourself!" - Sandy, Glee
"Don't talk black to me. How do you even talk black? Like end words with 'izzle'?"
"It's talk BACK you idiot." - Luke and Alex, Modern Family

The bad
Habits: Procrastination! I am a HUGE procrastinator! I am procrastinating at this very moment… I should be painting and yet here I am typing up fun things about me.
Qualities: I can pretty indecisive at times, which can cause problems… but I’m working on that.
Fears: Fire! It’s not really that I’m afraid of it per say, but I’ve been burned (see scars above) and REALLY respect fire and hate when people play with it. I’m also afraid of heights, spiders and the thought of something being underneath me when I’m swimming. *shivers* I got chills just typing that. I freak when something touches me when I’m swimming… ugh and don’t even get me started on seaweed.
Stuff I'd like to be good at that I'm not: Public speaking. I really don’t like being the center of attention so presentations at school were always the worst for me. However it’s a skill that you need in everyday life.

The good
Talents: I’m fairly good at drawing and painting (although painting is not my strong suit), I’m very empathetic, patient and can almost always see things from both sides (this has always been something I’m proud of).
Things I like to do: Read, watch movies and TV, draw, paint, garden, sew, cross stitch, knit, bake, cook, play Sims3 and hang out with my family and friends.

Life essentials
1. My husband
I couldn’t make it with out him. ♥
2.Family
As I said above they are my everything.
3.Books
I always carry a book with me, sometimes two. I generally always have two or three books on the go at once.
4. My laptop/the internet
I do almost everything online. I can rarely go a day without using the computer. What did I use to do before the internet? I have no idea.
5. Tea!
I love my tea. I’m not myself if I go a day without it.

Music
I really like a wide variety of music. My favourite artists though are The Beatles, Tom Petty and Paul Simon… I grew up with them so they always make me happy inside. The one group/artist I can’t STAND is The Police/Sting. His songs are catchy but honestly they are just the same sentence over and over again. Really you can’t come up with better lyrics than the same sentence repeated?? It gets grating.
