Yeah, tell me about it. We live there. No stores. Some of the liquor stores have a fairly decent selection of basics, but not really "groceries". It makes 'stopping somewhere on the way home to pick something up' a pain in the ass. The nearest thing we have is pak-n-sav, which is a madhouse & way to big when you just need milk or a couple bell peppers.

It DOES look like they're reopening an old grocery store on Market & West Grand. They (whoever 'they' are) have been working on it for months. I can't wait, as that's a block & a half from my house. Hello convenience!

Great to know about thanks!
And nice to see they were able to put together a pretty good video too.

Ahh WeOak, giving my city such a bad name.
(I live in RR, where I have two full grocery stores 1 block from me in either direction, and the closest liquor store 6 blocks away)

I also have only one Church within 6 blocks (re Goo-Maps). Volatile as this statement is, I think there's a correlation.

West Oakland has about 30,000 residents.
and about 53 liquor stores.
but NO grocery store.
So how many Churches?

I'd need those liquor stores if I went to church every Sunday too.

So far as I know there's no eta for a storefront yet, but 100% definitely worth supporting for sure. Thanks for posting.
