The big move and different ways you can help

So now that we officially have a place, we've begun the packing process. There's a couple different ways that folks can be helpful if they're interested.

1) Since I have to clean anything before I bring it over, it's difficult to really start the packing process until our moving day. Is there anyone, ideally in our neighborhood, but at least in the ( Read more... )

I sort of have cats, so I'm not sure if you'd want to, but you can leave a couple of boxes at my place.

The cat thing is this: I own cats, but they've been staying with my ex since April when I went to Egypt. We've been cleaning the house since then, and didn't want to lose cats amongst the mess. The house is fairly cat-free, and I've had allergic folks visit with no ill effects for a few hours. Not sure if this would work out for you or not.

We don't have a lot of space since we're still moving a bunch of stuff around, but I can find a place to stash a couple of boxes for a week.

Thanks so much, hun. I'll definitely keep it in mind. I think we're going to aim for cat free and closer first, but if we need it I'll definitely let you know.
Much appreciated!

I would be glad to try to help with food, but I'm very unclear on what you're eating right now. Could you give me some ideas?

I am not eating red meat, but I am eating poultry and fish.
no dairy, but other oils are fine.
Veggies are great, but no summer squash (zucchini, pattipan, crookneck) and no broccoli. But all others are fair game.
No yeast, so most baked breads are no good, but I can do flat breads like naan, or tortillas or wraps.
And no desserts, cuz no sugar.

Does that help?

Thanks so much!

So something like... baked chicken or fish, and safe veggies, and rice or pasta maybe? Let me poke in my freezer and see what I can come up with.

Also, I do have a storage area downstairs, but it has held my (cat contaminated) boxes before I got rid of them, so...?

That sounds delish!
oh, and no eggs. I forgot to mention the eggs.

You know, your storage unit might be perfect. N's got so many boxes of books, we'll need a couple different options.

You're awesome.

Lemme see how my schedule looks, I won't commit to anything - but I do have a vehicle to help moving stuff. I'd offer storage but I'm a double whammy for you - I have cats and I live in the south bay :)

I could store a few boxes for a while.

I'm away most of next weekend, but during the following week could probably help out if there is a need.
