If you're going on strike, and then a union tells you you can't strike, where is the person that says, "oh, ok, I won't cause disruption"?

Well, if a strike is deemed 'illegal', why would the strikers take any notice of that ruling?

Isn't illegal striking a sackable offence?
You can't be sacked for participating in a legal strike (tho' you can have your pay docked) but presumably there's no job protection for an illegal strike.
