Film/Media/Visual Studies 2010

Jan 13, 2010 11:09

Anyone else think there are too many different names for this field? (Or, conversely, too many fields trying to fit in under one name?)

Anyway, we've still got several weeks before we hear anything. Good luck!

Hm, well I've been hanging out on the English boards and started an interdisciplinary thread, but I feel kinship with you guys too (heck, more than half of the programs I applied to have one of those words in their name). Good luck to you as well :-) what in the film/media/visual studies pantheon are you interested in?

Completely out of the blue I've gotten an email from them (on Saturday, no less!) informing me that I've been shortlisted and asking for a quick follow-up phone interview sometime in the coming week. I'm shocked--I never expected any contact so early. Anyone else get one of these?

I didn't apply to UCI, but congrats, that's a great way to start the season. Very exciting--and so early!

Only UT-Austin Media Studies within this category, amidst a collection of English and interdisciplinary programs. Best of luck with your interview!

Has anyone heard? Seems like admissions decision were made based on a very small sample over at the grad cafe, but I'm yet to hear anything.

Thanks.

I applied but haven't heard anything. Someone on gradcafe was accepted, though.

Any chatter on acceptances?

I've heard word that calls are going out. Nothing on Grad Cafe.

I haven't heard anything on the Brown front either. Wasn't a particularly good fit for my interests so my hopes aren't exactly high.

Well, decisions are finally starting to roll in. UC Santa Barbara rejected me a couple weeks ago--as was the entire rest of the universe, it seems. (California money troubles = bad news for grad school applicants ( ... )
