Any Gryffindor could easily spot Hermione in the common room this evening. She was studying so hard, it might have looked like her head was going to pop off

Parvati breezed into the Common room, saying hello to a few younger years as she passed them, then spotted Hermione at a table. The girl looked like ahs needed a break, so Parvati decided to tlak to her dormmate.

Sticking her hands in the pockets of her robes, she approached the other girl. "Hey, Hermione. What are you working on?" she asked conversationally.

Hermione looked up at her, trying not to seem as grateful as she really was. "Ah, just some Potions work. I'd like to continue into the NEWTs level, but I'm not so sure if I'll be allowed in with these adjusted grades," she said, slightly more open than usual.

Parvati was sympathetic. "Oh, I know exactly what you mean, I doubt I'll be allowed into NEWTs Charms and Transfiguration either, and I don't even know what I'm doing career wise yet," she said softly as she dropped into a chair beside her.

"But there's got to be a bright side in this," she whispered. "If the HeadMistress goes, maybe we'll get the proper marks we've earned?" she was trying to see the bright side. She was also trying not to give up, and she was still working as hard as she could, although her Divination marks were dropping.

"Anymore news about Dumbledore?" Hermione asked hopefully, seeing in her eyes that his restoration to Hogwarts was the only true solution to the problems at hand.
