Kyle may as well have thrown his books across the room, because his quick spell to put them away was rather sloppy. Lately his honors papers had been kicking his arse, and it wasn't a feeling he was used to. Besides, the third review of his work was making him doubt himself immensely, and he'd learned that Mori could counteract his qualms.
Throwing on his sweater, Kyle began to walk from his small flat to their favorite meeting spot, a small cafe somewhat between their two places. Nestled into a booth, he began to fidget with his water glass, waiting for his girlfriend.
Mori abandoned her work and pulled on her new bright red Chanel peacoat. She loved the way it looked against her cream colored scarf and glove set. The outfit was complete with a beautiful red and cream lace headband that held back her rich brown curls.
Once she was satisfied, Mori thought about the cafe. There was a large cracking and then she was standing behind the cafe in the perfect secluded area. Once she was sure nobody was around, she made her way into the cafe.
"Your owl came at just the right time," she said, sitting down across her boyfriend.
Kyle leaned across the table and kissed her lightly. "Oh? What was going on?"
He hailed the waitress to come over to the table. "Hot buttered rum, please," he asked, not needing a menu. It was one of his favorite winter time drinks.
