The Advanced Potions class that Marlow had registered for came with a particularly heavy book load. While her brother was running about with a few of his friends, Marlow had taken to getting a few things on her school list for the next semester. Although strange things often happened in Diagon Alley, this was certainly something new. She stared in awe as the young girl ran past her, her long hair whipping all about her face. The orderly assigned to watch her looked a little more than peeved.
She snickered to herself silently when she noticed across that right next to her was someone she most certainly thought she recognized from school.
"I guess the holidays weren't very good to her, hm?" she asked, trying to withhold the snort of laughter that was sneaking past her lips. "It's almost... tragic."
Or funny. Or hilarious. Or you know, completely absurd.
"I'm... not even sure if I should be terrified or..." he kept laughing, turning to face the girl. "You're Marlow Linney? I remember you from Hogwarts," he smiled, glancing back at the dissipating crowd. The girl had been calmed and was back into the care of the orderly.
"This is my Aunt Lara," Kyle introduced the two. "Ms Linney and I go to Painswick together."
She shuffled her bag from one hand to the other as she jutted out the free one to shake the woman's hand. You could always count on Diagon Alley as a place to run in to someone you knew, slightly knew or didn't know at all.
She looked back to the young woman and shook her head.
"Probably best they don't let their patients out in public," she commented, laughing softly. "Could you imagine of Harry was here, just now? I'm sure he'd be so red in the face."
