Foo Fighters - These Days

Easy for you to say
Your heart has never been broken
Your pride has never been stolen
[...]
One of these days you
you will forget to hope
and learn to fear

Complete lyrics here.

When I first got my hands on the latest Foo Fighters' album 'Wasting Light' I listened to it from beginning to end. And truth be told? I wasn't very impressed. It had to many rough edges for my liking, recorded in some old garage there was nothing polished about it, every mistake anyone had ever made while recording still on there.
By now I have fallen in love all over with this record. All the rough edges bringing it to live. It is however a record that grows on you over time.
One song, however, i feel in love with instantly and that was 'These Days'. It alternates between slow, quiet, almost heartbreaking parts and then stumbles right into fast, loud, scream-at-the-top-of-your-voice, can-you-feel-my-rage parts. I love that dearly in songs.
Also, I think everyone can relate to this song. It's that moment when you've gotten your heartbroken and you suffer. It hurts and you know it shouldn't really be this bad. Your friends tell you that he doesn't deserve anyway and you know it's true but don't you just hate hearing that right then? This song is the middle finger you're entitled to showing the world. This is you saying 'stop telling me that everything will be allright' because you just don't want to hear it. Wallow in your misery for just a little while before you pull yourself out of it again.
