Eliot hadn't had to be literally dragged back to the house, but it was a near thing. His instinct was to hide out, curl in on himself and just -- shut down for awhile. Not forever. Not even for awhile. Just long enough to put his head back together.

That would freak Parker out though. So he came home.

He rubbed his hand down his face at her suggestion, for once not feeling like jumping up and putting something together. "Don't -- don't eat fortune cookies for dinner. We can order take out."

Parker's face fell when she realized that her idea for distracting him hadn't worked. She shrugged, then said, "Pizza?" She got up and started wandering around. "Or Chinese or.." Korean? She stopped dead in the middle of the room, feeling sad and at loose ends. She hugged herself, watching Eliot closely. "Do you want a hug? Or would that make it worse?"

Oh god, Parker was offering to hug him. He must be a mess. "I don't know," he said honestly. "I keep tellin' myself at least this time we got to say goodbye -- but it ain't helpin'."

Parker walked over and leaned into him. Not quite a hug, but the lead-in to one. "Because she's still gone. And it's still not fair. And we still don't know what happened to Raven. And..." She sighed, slumping a little. "I want to make it better. I hate feeling like this. I hate watching you feel even worse."
