Fuck off moral high-ground jumpers

On Sunday, I came across these ad campaigns by the Red Cross:

link 2
link 3I realised immediately that the police in these pictures are Nepalese not Chinese. However the concept of these campaigns were obviously and directly pointing at China's policy in Tibet and the upcoming Beijing Olympics! I was furious and decided to get in touch ( Read more... )

WOAH!

Thank God you saw it and were able to complain. This is clearly pure, unadulterated propaganda on the part of the Red Cross.

I know I've said this many times, but every country has its issues and downfalls, but I can't understand why a so-called benevolent organization would take it upon themselves to smear a country and it's people at a time when, I believe, China and the Chinese people are getting a moment of much deserved international glory.

If the Olympics were in Germany or France do you think the Red Cross would be spreading propaganda about those countries? And God knows that Germany and France have had their social issues.

I'm VERY proud of you for making a stand.

Do you live on Livejournal now? lol

Thanks for always reading my post. :) I totally agree with what you said and it's such a disgrace on the part of the Red Cross. Almost every Chinese person on this planet is excited about the games and all they can do is to piss on it? I understand they have issues with Chinese government, but come on.

I can only hope there are more people like you in the West can see things clearly. I mean, sometimes I wonder, who's being brainwashed here?

No, but I feel like I at least have a summerhouse here. ;)

I always keep an eye out for your posts. I know it will either be something pretty and/or interesting.

Almost every Chinese person on this planet is excited about the games and all they can do is to piss on it? I think it is in a way, sour grapes(which is a very simple term to apply to a large issue, I know). Good things are happening in China for the people, it's their moment to host the whole world, so to speak and I think that bothers some people ( ... )

I think you're missing the point. nils_neo July 16 2008, 13:11:07 UTC
People aren't advertising about the dismal human rights records of China now to take away the pride the Chinese people have over hosting the olympic games, but to make people who otherwise never think about China, but do now since it is always in the news, consider what they can do to help the people of China live in peace without fear of their lives if they say or god forbid think the wrong thing. Campaigns like that one are for the Chinese people, against the Chinese government. There's a distinction.
