TITLE: POI fic - Leap of Faith

SUMMARY: Quantum Leap AU fusion
It seemed like the world was rushing to hell in a hand basket as fast as possible, but for John the world had already come to an end when he learned of Jessica’s death.
War, famine, breakdown of technology. Shortages of everything. Tensions caused by the resulting hardship sparked conflicts amongst smaller nations, some radicals even went so far as nuclear strikes. It seemed soon everything would be going up in flames, no one could stop it.
But then John was approached by someone who thought he could. Finch used his money to gather much of the failing resources and create a machine. A machine filled with all of the intelligence from before everything started to fall apart, tracing the tiny steps that led incrementally to the current situation. And he had developed a means of changing that course--project someone’s intelligence into someone in the past and alter what had happened, resulting in a sort of butterfly effect of ripples to put the world on a different path. But he needed someone willing to take the risky journey. John would be that person.
They hoped that together they could try and save the world, one person at a time (but each had a secret hope that maybe they could also save the ones they lost)
