It had been a magnificent waste of time, leaving her room. The streets were teeming with zombified Extras, and Katherine wondered if there was a single one left in Taxon uninfected. All she knew was that she wasn't going to find anywhere to get her nails done, couldn't shop in peace, couldn't amuse herself the way she usually did. It was making her incredibly cranky. While she mostly tried to avoid touching the disgusting Extras, she had taken her frustration out on a few of them, albeit only quickly smacking off their heads and stalking away. It had been impulsive, a mistake; her jacket had been ruined, the sleeve caked in zombie goo. She'd tossed it somewhere along the way.
As she approaches the door to her room, the stink is noticeable in the air. More so are the stains on the light carpeting of the hallway - is that a shoe print? Oh, hell no. If those things have dared to invade her room now, she'd damn well

The macabre ludicrousness of the situation finally snaps Katherine out of her state of stupefaction, dismay quickly turning into irritation. The door rattles on its hinges as she slams it shut and rounds on Stefan, curls flying and eyes blazing. Instead of exploding into a heated fit of demands about what the hell was he thinking when he decided this was a grand idea, Katherine's words come out slowly as if she was determined to hang onto what shreds of patience she has left.
"I'm surprised you found the time from your obviously busy zombie-slaughter schedule for a social call, Stefan," she grounds out sarcastically, glaring at him mutinously and deliberately ignoring his bait. "Really, you shouldn't have."
Despite her outward ire, a quiet sense of unease prickles in the back of her mind. Katherine recognizes an intimidation attempt when she sees one - hell, she could write a book about the topic. Behavior such as this is certainly not something she ever expected from Stefan. Damon, maybe, but not Stefan. She hates surprises, being
