So my dad said that I didn't get my absentee ballot because I put on my application form that I live in Oakland, and that even though I'm a legal resident Oakland, I need to register to vote in Arcata because I spend most of my time here ( Read more... )

Basically, just show up at the polls where ever you are, and you should be allowed to vote there.

Nope, that doesn't work. You can only vote in the precinct where you're registered.

Also, like evilmerc and ladylena07 said, your dad's wrong. And in addition to what ladylena07 said, you don't need to get a new cal-ID when you move. I still have mine from .. uh... ::checks wallet::...7/31/07. And I've been living primarily in Santa Cruz for two years and exclusively in Germany for almost half a year after that.
