Order

Chaos theory, the theory of bubble universes, parallel universes. To think of being on another world seemed so impossible, meeting my double and finding those who died long ago. If the scientists could hear of this now, they'd be thrilled and want to know how the technology works. I cannot deny that I am interested as well. The technology must be ( Read more... )

Justice is subjective. There is much disparity in interpretation between cultures on a single world. Coming to a consensus would be difficult. As would forming a chain of command acceptable to the majority.

Justice can be run on a democratic, majority-rules system. I would hope to believe that the majority believes in some sort of order and peace. Or perhaps this place is more chaotic than I had previously thought.

They may. But how they define those values may not match up. What is considered necessary in both action and restriction to meet those ends almost certainly will not.

I am curious. How would you enforce the rules set in place by your hypothetical majority?

Perhaps, yet I would like to see the majority consensus here.

I would prefer a police force of some sort, perhaps even a neighborhood watch.

I'm doing fine so far, Nii-chan. Nothing bad has happened yet. Although there are some weird people in this place...

That's good.

There are some unusual and strange people in this place. Be careful, there are some bad people here too.

If there are, then I haven't met them yet.

Are you okay too, Nii-chan?

That's good.

Absolutely. Have you visited the library? There's quite the selection.

Child, what makes you think you're capable of controlling us, even if you were qualified to?

Which, by the way, you aren't.

Controlling you? If I had any intention of doing such, I would never state it so blatantly. I simply wish for justice and order.

What is justice if not a form of control? How do you obtain order without control?

It seemed you were to imply that I wished to be the ruler of Econtra, which is far from true. I simply wish to create some sort of order and camaraderie. If marginal control is necessary to create peace, then so be it. That is how to prevent an anarchy from forming.

Lofty aspirations for a new arrival, don't you think?

It is simply a suggestion. If we are to remain here perhaps indefinitely, then I'd prefer to live in an orderly world, not one of chaos.

So controlling, Light-kun. What would you judge proper justice to be? We've been recruited to fight. A Chain of Command, perhaps?

whos_ur_kami July 23 2008, 21:26:17 UTC
That would be sufficient. If we are to fight and survive, we need some sort of order and training.

I am a man of justice and law.

In other words; a man with a god complex and ideals which includes killing for the sake of false peace.
