No one knows and no one cares

I recently found out that last week my favorite author died. It's doubtful that a lot of people know his work, and my friends probably only recognize the name from my gushing about him. My favorite author was Frank Conroy, because of his incredible memoir, Stop-TimeI don't want to sound silly or stupid, but Stop-Time really affected me. Somehow, ( Read more... )

I think that was one of the most honest, beautifully-written things I have ever read.

I'm sure Mr. Conroy would have been very proud.

And I think that maybe, if you really appreciate him (as you do), somehow, he might know.

I don't mean that to sound all ooey, but I think it's true, in a way which I can't exactly explain how.

That was really sad, Maggie. I almost cried reading it. It's amazing how much you think your entries through. Don't be too sad. You'll always have his books to go back to.
