so sad...
this just makes me even more frustated about the lack of FREE help those like me and others with depression have.

i know stace. the system doesnt provide anywhere near enough resources. obviously people who are depressed can often not share those feelings with the people around them. look at paul, no one knew he had these problems and its come as a complete shock.

i cant remember what i was watching the other day, a documentary on suicide. anyway, they were saying that in the past, suicide numbers have stayed consistently high. and it was only until about 10 years ago when some forms of help were made accessible did the numbers even START to decline. its horrible... honestly, if i wanted to get help for depression i wouldnt have any clue how to go about it other than visiting my local GP who has been a friend of the family since i was 3, and that would be awkward!

its also about seeing the RIGHT people too. GP's are useless. they can treat comon colds and flues (take panadol and drink water) but they dont know how to treat it. they give drugs as per usual. drugs dont cure a problem, they only prelong it by making things ease temporarily.

something like 50% of australians a depressed and only a small percentage of these are even seeking help for it. and the small percentage that ARE getting help get knocked back for other things like health benifits etc because they are increased risk or something. my mum was declined because of it.

sucks.
