Mikage didn't know Simon at all. BUT he knew Kinon and she gave him a binder full of ~confidential information~ about the GL world and its people.

SO HE KNOWS A LOT.

Simon was one of Ikki's good friends! They were pretty close, and did retarded stuff together. Also not-brother-things thanks to Kuro and Fay adopting too many kids.

Mokona is the same! SHE LOEV SIMON. ♥

Simon and Brook were REALLY tight during his previous stay. Brook become a formal member of the Gurren Brigade and everything and he treasures their company incredibly much: they were a huge help for him when he first got here by providing him with enough shonen/gar idiocy to sustain himself in the absence of his canon-mates! Simon and Kamina once helped him fight boggarts who turned into ninjas wearing burning scissors. There was a lot of wonderful stupid going around during those days. And Brook promised he'd sail a ship across dimensions somehow to be at their wedding.

That said he's not going to be TOO upset that Simon doesn't remember him, because he knows that's how the cookie crumbles in this place. He'll just be glad to have his bro back.
