-feels old-

Hey, we may not have a real space program -- sob! that's how old I am; so old, my high-school pals and I really expected to hold our 2001 get-together on the Moon -- but we do have Dick Tracy cell-phone watches, Star Trek-like communicators, solar cars, manufacturing and surgical robots, laser surgery, photocopied food O.o ...

...and, coming soon:
* teleporters (sort of -- http://www.kidzworld.com/article/2256-beam-me-up-scotty-a-real-live-teleporter)
* micro traction beams (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-12620560)
* and -- wait for it -- available for sale by year's end (they say) ... a genuine flying car (http://www.terrafugia.com/).

ditto on 1971. I expected us to be colonizing planets right now and having the moon all populated with a mongo space station ala star trek.

And I want my silver Lame' jumpsuit and flying car, dammit.
