I used to work in a law firm, and while sometimes I would be insanely busy, at other times it would be dead and I had to find ways to look like I was really busy. One of the ways I did that was to write fanfic during the dead times, and every single time I tried to write a sex scene, inevitably my boss would come into my office to ask me something and I would turn beet red.
My entire family knows I write fanfic. Only my husband knows that some of it is erotic.
lollll, yes. No matter what you're reading/writing or how long t takes to get through it, nobody ever shows up until the sex scene, right? It happens to me EVERY time.
it's the same way with my family. Everyone but my mom and stepdad know about this part of my life and they don't know because of the homophobia. All of my siblings - step siblings included - know, though, and so does my dad and future stepmom.
I totally know what you mean...Although my family in not religious and I know that neither of my parents are homophobic, I would never ever admit to them that I read/write fanfiction, let alone slash fanfiction, because they would consider it a waste of time. They're HUGE bibliophiles both of them and they'd JUDGE ME, thinking that fanfiction is just not good or serious writing.
And my mum has totally interrupted me while I was writing smut before and she was like 'ooooh what are you writing there?'...talk about awkward hahaha!
lolllll, yes. I hate it when people ask me what I'm reading/writing when they interrupt me because it's like...they really don't want to know the answer. The answer would probably scar them.
Do you have any friends who know about the slash fanfics ou write/read? I want so desperately to tell some of my friends but it's just so scary...even if they don't say anything I'll know if they judge me silently :L
well, all of my real life friends are guys. I don't hang out with girls that aren't my sisters, so if you hang out with girls, I probably can't help you there.
My guy friends know that I read and sometimes write Slash. Their reactions range from "ew!" to a good-natured "oh lord" with an eyeroll. I get shit for it sometimes, but I get shit for everything I say and do with them so it's not like it's different. XD
