But...but the Badlands didn't have to do with any of this! The president, the people in Ivona - they should know better, right? So why are they placing the blame on them?!

I mean...I'm glad we didn't get in trouble, but this doesn't - it just doesn't feel right.

But politicians are supposed to help their homes, right? And picking a fight with the Badlands won't help anybody. I mean, I've heard all the jokes and rumors and everything else people say about them, but still...

Definitions of 'help' vary. Picking a fight with the Badlands would give them an excuse to try and control the Badlands more, and a lot of the time, governments seem to see getting as much control over as much territory as possible as helping their country. I suppose they're right in a way, but not a way that's much good to most people.
