2) Naono Bohra is amazing. <3 I adore her manga. I have the few that were actually released in english! lol I don't like all her stories... some are too... dark or gory? XD for me at times. lol But for the few I don't like there are loads that I do~ <3 I love that she always manages to fit a plot into her stories too. Even when they are just a chapter long. Not many are able to do that like she does. ^_^
3) Happy Birthday!!! :D I hope you are having a wonderful day!!! *hugs*
2) Yes, I do believe there was one story where a boy's lover had some sort of accident and came back from the dead to be with him...when his arm fell off I said "ACK, I think that'll be it for me." But I do love all her other stories :D I love her short, meaningful oneshots! I agree that few mangakas can do short n' sweet like she does. Her couples always have a deeper connection than "I saw you and you're ADORABLE."
3) Thanks again!! I had a great birthday, now that exams are over and spring is finally here :)
That is the one I was thinking of. I just thought that was a bit to much, especially when they were making and his torso broke apart from his hips. >.< Gross... *cringes*
One of my favourite one shots is Yurusareta Uta I just thought it was really sweet. :)
You know, it took me a while to be able to appreciate Naono Bohra-her art style took a lot of getting used to-but I have to agree with you now. You can tell she puts a lot of work into her stories, and she's not afraid to tackle things most mangakas avoid, like older men who look like older men, or disabilities, or even death (and I mean the not-so-glamorous kind). She's definitely one of a kind.
And happy birthday! I didn't realize you'd posted today, I didn't have to send a PM. Oh well XD Hope you had a good one :3
Her art style is very unique! It didn't take too much getting used to for me~ I find the things that irk me the most are disproportionate body parts (esp. hands and feet) and triangular/squarish faces (one reason it took me a while to warm up to Junjou Romantica). I love stories with older ukes or oyaji ukes so finding sensei's work was like finding several chests of treasure :3 And one of my favorite stories from her was the oneshot with the deaf man and the writer.
Thank you! My family went to a nice Vietnamese restaurant for my birthday and ate noodle soup :)
Yes, well, Junjou Romantica's art style took a lot of getting used to, too XD
I really liked the one with the deaf man too, actually. It's funny, because most of her topics aren't things I generally go for, but she just does them so well.
Naono Bohra is one of my favorites because her works have real people falling in love. I think she's very brave in featuring old, disabled, and people of all walks of life in her stories. She has a nice sense of humor, too.
Are you friends with praysolace by any chance? Lol. You have similar opinions :) And I completely agree-her realistic characters are what drew me to her work. And she does draw very cute chibis :3
