Van Jones is my new hero.

I recently read an interview of his in the Sun and was just totally blown away by how perfectly he connects the environmental movement with the failings of our criminal justice system.

You've also been involved over the years with prisoners' rights and prison reform. What challenges do we face in reforming the criminal-

I KNOW!!!! I LOVE VAN JONES! I've been looking into volunteering time there myself by living in close-enough proximity (N. Oakland) and working at the Center for Environmental Health too! Let's make a day-trip together!

I read that article. I died, it was so amazing it was everything I have been thinking and knowing I want to help work towards but not being able to say, lacking the vocabulary, the stats, the experience. Anyway, what exactly is stopping you from working at the Ella Baker center? Im sure they would love to have you. And I would love to have you in Oakland or Berkeley in a cute two bed room flat with trees in the yard, a kittie and two piggies.
