before we begin...these are not my top choices.
Pitt (got to sit in on a business ethics class which was quite interesting)
+the study abroad program. semester at sea = orgasm.
+the program in general
+the hillell
+has a football team and the like
+the freggin awesome international rooms in the chapel of learning...
+has an honors program
+the size
+Mae is playing there saturday.
------------its in the middle of fucking Pittsburg.
-- it is called "pitt"
-they have a building called the chapel of learning.
-the boys average about a 6 (on a 1-14 scale).
geh. im not a city campus kinda person. otherwise i would have loved pitt.
Penn State (saw 5 people from Churchill at Penn)
+school spirit times infinity. their fucking nuts.
+gorgeous campus
+program, for the most part
+size
+honors program
+college town
+active campus
+average guy was like a 10
+major choices
+can design your own major
+probably a safety school (depends on SATs)
-size
-honors program doesn’t seem that great (information session guy didn’t mention it. and its needs a separate app. what a bitch.)
-might not be able to do semester at sea
liked Penn for the most part. will probably app there come fall.
noticed something during the visits....so far all the colleges iv visited stress one specific aspect of their college. (the pitt business ethics class called it differentiation, what makes your business special) Pitt's was its study abroad program, Penn's was its school spirit, and Maryland's was its different Honors programs.
i dunno, i find it interesting.
Dad on Blink:
dad: "hey, you know that band, blink something?"
me: "oh, blink 182?"
dad: "yea, them. well do you know what blink menas?"
me: "uhh, like with your eyes?"
dad: "no, its means Jewelry, blink blink"
me: ::blank stare:: "uhh, you mean blinG dad..."
Dad on the Pitt boys:
Dad: they only average a 6 because you’ve only seen the ones who actually go to class.
Dad on Ivy League Schools:
Dad: "you could absolutely get into Princeton."
(i told him i'd pay for my 4 years at Princeton as well as my brothers college education if i got in).
so yep.
