I think it depeneds what they mean by beauty. If they mean inner beauty I agree, if they mean physical beauty then I would be forced to call then shallow.

I was just thinking about this the other day. What truly defines beauty? Even though i'm not settled on this, its the best i've found so far. You can't really say beauty is... but you can say what is beautiful. Those things we encounter which steal us from routine and custom and awaken us with purest emotion are truly beautiful. And if that is what the author meant by beauty, then I agree for what other reason is there for being human?
