I'm having suspicions about the Doctor Who s4 series arc. Good suspicions.
Doctor Who 4x02 The Fires of Pompeii
Yeah. It was good. It's weird - I like the Ancient Rome era, I love the whole seer thing, but I just was kind of bored by this episode until the last 15 minutes. It just felt like the story was plodding along and we were getting nowhere.

Perfect candidate for deification in Rome, then, eh? I had no problem with the Doctor-as-household-god, because it didn't jar horribly with the cultural context -- as opposed to Doctor-as-Jesus, which leaves poor old Christians like me going, "But -- wait -- no -- Andrew Lloyd Webber's not canon, dammit!"

Ack! Couldn't agree more. My dislike for the end of S3 has festered over the months to complete hate. I can take nothing positive away from the final three eps arpart from the fact that Martha rules.
...and now we've got the Doctor holding his hand out of the TARDIS with a bright white light behind him (and what exactly was that coming from anyway?)
Lol, I was wondering the exact same thing instead of being awe-inspired by The Doctor being back-lit.
I have kept myself entirely spoiler free. I know nothing and it's wonderful. AM just going to sit back and enjoy the ride and try not to angst too much- just wait and see how RTD plans to occupy so many returning characters (especially when one seemed to much of a challenge in Captain Jack- *is not bitter* :D) xXx
