The X Prize was offered to the first private company that could put 3 men
in space, bring them down to Earth, and then do the same feat again within

See my only complaint about this, and I guess this is something that would come in a future version of the competition, is that Spacecraft one isn't ground launched and requires another vessel to take it up a fair distance, and it only atmosphere hopped, which isn't really complete space travel.

They went into space, didn't they? Surely it counts no matter how you get up there, even if you just rode up a space elevator a la Arthur C Clarke it would still count...

Yeah I guess. Just wanted this to be more or a re-usable spacecraft experiement rather than a race to space. I know that Spaceship one shows we can make reusable craft, but I guess I wanted the requirements to be a litttle harsher.

I'd been keeping an eye on it ever since they made the first flight earlier in the year - it's great news for geeks everywhere.

Now all I have to do is save up about £100k and go talk to that nice Mr. Branson...
