A linguistic quibble: "to libate" can only correctly be used for liquids, as the Latin word means "to pour as an offering".
If I were your editor, I would alter your sentences to: Before we eat, we say a food blessing, and then [offer] a small portion of each dish or drink into a bowl. After feast is over, we scatter the contents of the [offering] bowl outside[].
