As far as Autumn goes--I wouldn't worry about it. Her explanation to you is one of the most juvenile things I've ever heard--unless she is ridiculously codependant she should be able to make independent choices regarding the quality and productivity of her own life without ditching her friends.

You're not holding her back, so I don't know why she's being this way. Honestly though people have a tendency to do ridiculous selfish shit in light of their ganz amazeenk relationships, so I really couldn't tell you. I wish things could be resolved for both of your sakes, but it might be better for you to move on and just try to find new friends. Going back to school will hopefully help that a lot. :]
