Frank Herbert is the original author. =\ And the book is great.

well in 84 the orignal movie was based on the book.. but.. remember this in movies authors and directors are different the original movie known jus as "DUNE" had an amazng directo it was way more abstract.. as next to Frank Hurburts Dune aka (the re-made version in 98ish) which is played on Scifi alot had a terrible director.. in example "Dawn of the dead" both the same movie based off a book... but.. the original was better. all bout the direction the director takes it in.Oh and no hostility, i jus think the one from 1984 was way better.
