I don't like comparing bands unless they're very similar. It feels no different than comparing a good movie to a good T.V. show.

And whether Mars Volta is better or not, the concerts of NiN in terms of concert quality are accepted by critics everywhere as mopping floor with other shows (I've seen videos, the concerts are insane, INSANE).
