Hey. I saw your question in iconaddicts. I'm answering here, since it's against the community rules to post questions/requests and to reply to them there.
What kind of icons are you making (still/animated?) and what program are you using? If you're doing animations, cut down on the number of frames. If they're stills, make sure you're saving them at medium or low quality JPG. If you have a program like Photoshop (any version including Elements), you should have the option to "save for web."
oh i didnt know you couldnt post questions.. oops :-p. im trying to make animated ones. im using animation shop 3. i guess i could try cutting down on the frames. hey thanx :-D

If it's not a mini-movie, make sure that each frame is as compressed as possible.
