We talked about something like this in my psych class about these parents praying to God to fix their daughter's diabetes. Hey guess what? She DIED. Because diabetes can't be cured by Jesus.
I support parents who choose to do nothing, but only in cases were the disease is rarely curable. My mom took care of a couple who had a baby with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (bascially, you have no left side of the heart, so you can't pump blood anywhere) and they did nothing. The only option is surgery immediately after birth and even then, life isn't certain. So in the case, I found it acceptable, but do you know how easy it is so sew the stomach and dudodenum together?

This story is from doing extra credit for Counseling Psych. It's about animals though, which obviously aren't humans, but can get intense ( ... )
