Burn it down, it comes right back again

Couldn't believe that Ken let me pretty much insisted that I use her ride today. She had some class deal to go to at UCLA, and couldn't bring me to go get the rest of my shit that was still at Wesley's pad. Told the girl I didn't have a license, or really know how to drive at all. She didn't seem to care about it though, so why the fuck should I? ( Read more... )

Her back. This was a human euphamism for protection. I continued to stare at her and then gave the barest nod. I could feel the darkness in her mind beginning to take over again. It wouldn't be long now before she was taken over completely.

I looked at her and said, "Your mind....I must begin to fix it once more."

That's my girl, gettin' right down to business. "It's gettin' worse isn't it?" I asked her, but didn't wait for a response. Opening the back door of Kennedy's jeep I threw my clothes in and headed around to the other side.

"I'm stayin' at Ken's pad now. You comin'?" I asked her as I opened up the driver's side door.

I gave the barest of nods and then stared at her. She was scared. The only time the slayer was truly afraid was when we spoke of the darkness in her mind. Is this the one weakness of a slayer? Fear of the unknown or just the fact that she couldn't fight it?

I climbed into the metal monster and stared around the confined space. I didn't like being in there and wanted it to end quickly. I saw lights and began pushing buttons. I pushed one in particular and loud minstrals began yelling. I screamed and smashed my hand into the sound. The sound stopped and wires clung to my hand. I stared at her, "What manner of sorcerer made that contraption?"

"Whoah. Whoah!" I lightly pushed her hand away as she pushed the horn. "Look, I don't exactly know how to drive one of these things. So maybe you shouldn't be messin' around with it, or else were both gonna end up little pieces of blood and guts on the side of the road." Looking at her for a minute I wondered something.

"Assuming you have blood and guts anyways." With a shrug I concentrated on driving again. Peeling out into interstate traffic, I tried to keep it under the speed limit, as I headed towards Kennedy's apartment.
