 Well 2010 has been an interesting year that has found me in Long Beach, California! Not a bad place to be, but sad that my friends are not with me, and even more so that Georges is not here. We have always spent New Years together at some fun ass place so this sucks big ass. To combat the negative sad feelings I am trying to focus on other things

So I am new to all this godmother stuff. What are some appropriate gift ideas for the baby? I was thinking something other than toys and clothing. Something that he can have when he grows up.

I'm a godmother too, and it's a lovely job :-)

I second the recommendation for books - I gave a selection of classic books from picture board books right up to a copy of the Hobbit so they can grow along with them.
