haha, I also sometimes rest my faith in humanity that star trek might paint something like our future.

You know, there is a religion built around that. I forget what it's called, but basically the belief is that jesus was an amabassador from some federation of planets trying to gather enlighten us so we could join them, and we fucking killed him. So they blackballed us from ever entering.

Sometimes I wish I could believe something like that, haha.
