Signs, signs, everywhere signs

Sometimes I feel like people don't get it when I talk about living in the Bible Belt -- in a rural ass-pocket of the Bible Belt, no less. It's just overwhelming for a poor atheist girl.

Whenever I see "on your knees," my mind doesn't go to prayer. it goes to blow jobs.

... although both, in my experience, work better in other positions. it hurts to be on your knees for too long.

You see a little of this type of thing in northern Ontario as well, though muuuuuch less than you'd see it. However, because it's remote and advertising is cheap, they buy entire highway billboard spaces and fill them up with big, red sans-serif. Nothing like rounding a bend in Highway 17 to see
THE END IS NEAR
in a field. Of corn.

There's nothing else around. The name of the associated church is on the billboard in moderately-sized letters, but there's no building in sight. Just you, the open road, and GOD'S JUDGMENT.
