Title: Initiation
Prompt: Tears of the Gods
Warnings:none
The music filtered down from the speakers as the people on the dance floor moved to the pounding beat. They shook and stomped their feet in some long forgotten tribal rhythm in worship to the D.J.'s music. They were following the subtle music cues they changed their movements and screamed and ground against each other.
The Priest of the temple, he watched the sweating bodies play out their merical play from his throne behind the long oak bar. He shoved his libations at the Priestesses and sent them off to their service. He felt secure in the fact that his offerings would be met with approval by the congregation.
"Hi!" the girl giggled and leaned on her sisters. They shared a giggle as he watched. They were dressed up as virgins fit for sacrifice. All tight cloth and ample skin. He could already see some of the others circling close.
"Hello." He yelled over the music, watching the flashing lights painting pictures over their skin.
"It's my birthday!" the girl shouted, her wide innocent eyes staring at him as she leaned over the bar, her face inches from his chest.
"Well happy birthday!" He grinned and leaned down, his face inches from hers now. He didn't smell any sacramental wine on her breath. She was still pure.
"Thank you!" She yelled as she looked over her shoulder at her friends, they giggled again, giddy with the realization that they were actually allowed to be here. "I want a drink!"
He laughed and stood up. "Of course you do." He reached for a towel and started cleaning the altar she would soon be worshiping at. "What can I get you?"
"I don't know." She shook her head, her long curled hair shaking back and forth. "What do you suggest?"
"How about something special for the Birthday girl?" He grinned and placed a long glass in front of her. He watched as her eyes widened as he reached for one of the many bottles in front of him. He poured the clear liquid into the glass.
The girls leaned closer, their eyes locked on the glass. He added a bit of color, he watched the pink swirl as it was added to the clear, smiling as they "ooohed" over drink. He reached for two more bottles and watched as they added to he hight of the liquid already into the glass.
"Not done yet." He laughed as she reached for the glass and swatted her hand away. He took out his lighter. The girls drew back and eyed him suspiciously for a moment, but squealed with glee when the drink flashed to life. The flame burned blue.
"What do I do?" The young woman asked, her eyes trained on the glass in front of her.
"Blow it out." He grinned. "Then shoot the thing back. Think you can do it?"
His voice was challenging. After all, initiation was not easy. Everyone had their Baptism by fire. The girl reached for the glass, her eyes set just as fierce as her lips, before she puckered her sweet candy coated mouth and blew the breath of life across the edge of the glass. She looked at him quickly before tossing her glass back.
"Oh my god." She moaned as the fiery liquid coursed down her throat. The girl, no woman, braced her hands on the altar, her head lowered. "What the hell was that?"
She raised her head and he saw the tears in her eyes. She looked dazed as she put her hand to her head, the tears finally winning and spilling down her cheeks.
"I feel dizzy." She said as her sisters took her arms with worried looks on her face. "I think I need to go sit down."
"Want another one?" He laughed and took the glass back, quickly stashing it behind the altar and watching her carefully.
"Maybe in a moment." She laughed a bit shakily. "I'll be back."
"I'll be here." He grinned as he watched her walk off, being led by her sisters. She had to lean heavily on them, not used to such things. At least not yet.
"What was that you gave her?" He turned and looked at his fellow Priest. The other one looked curious, though not shocked in the least. It was their calling after all.
"A lot of things." He laughed. "I call it my Birthday girl special." They shared a grinned and then he leaned down as another came to worship at their altar. The night was young after all and they had a long night of rituals to preside over.
