It isn't just "men of business" objecting to it. I had a facebook "friend", someone I met through our mutual involvement in a service club no less, who is a lover of Jesus, post something (not strongly worded) saying "9/11 should be a National Day of Remembrance, not a 'national day of service.'" If I wanted to make something of it, I'd just comment "What would Jesus do?"
I just can't get my head around the fact that people are so ideological (I mean, I KNOW it is true, but ow, my brain) that they can be people who otherwise perform service to others, for many reasons, on many occasions, but because of some warped perception of ideological identity, because a particular person called forth this action, it is now suddenly wrong.
I just signed up as an organ donor when I renewed my license. It makes me want to drive more slowly. :) (I feel pretty safe in my Subaru, since an IIHS top pick - but still). I'd prefer to stay alive and keep them, but you know, if others can be helped - I'm all for it. (though what if your organ ends up in a crazy Republican?)
I've been an organ donor since I got my license when I was 16. Another friend just renewed her license and finally committed to organ donation, too. I just always thought it would be a logical thing to do. At that point, I'm not using my organs. *Someone* should!

(sorta on a related note - I was pleased to hear that my uncle donated the kidney they took out of Papa to research.)
