The beginning of this internship has been a whirlwind. I found out less than 12 hours before I started that I was going to start the next day. I received a call from one of my new leaders on Friday, introducing herself to me since I had met everyone else through meet and greets and interviews. She mentioned that they'd be pulling me from my college program early and my start date would be April 29th since I'd have pre-approved vacation time to go home. Linda (my mother-in-law) came in this past couple days so we took her around and played. We went to Epcot on Saturday, Hollywood Studios on Sunday, and Islands of Adventure/Universal on Monday. Just when I had given up receiving any news today, I received a phone call from a "Blocked" number. Sure enough, it was Disney Casting. They didn't give me the offer right away, I had to answer a series of questions first and then at the end she gave me the offer. Yesterday, Duncan was unable to work due to overtime, so we had an unexpected day off together which NEVER happens. We spent the morning catching up on errands and cleaning for our house guests. I didn't meet with the 3 that I had met with the last time, one was their leader and one was an additional team member. Today I journeyed to Celebration for another 2nd interview for a different professional internship with Disney. It was a pretty intense building. I received some very exciting news yesterday regarding some Professional Internships here in Disney. First, I received a call to set up a 2nd interview with the Travel Industry Sales - Training, Development, and Operations. I'll be having that on Tuesday.
