So I just did the stereotypical comic book geek thing where you hit up the internet and gush (or bitch, depending) about the most recent comic book adaptation to hit the big screen

The only thing I could say when I walked out of the theater (I'm not big on comic books save spawn and sandman, so I didn't read watchmen) was "THAT WAS F****** AMAZING!"

Come to find out this morning that the reviews were...bad?!?!

I'm very upset. This movie deserves much more attention than the batman movie.

I can see how reviewers might think badly of it. There are a lot of unnecessary shots, exposition and the length of both. But then again, this was a love letter to comic books (especially Watchmen, of course) and their fans.
