NKOTB - The End?

Mar 31, 2011 14:45

So, most of you that read my LJ, well, if there are any of you left, know that I'm a huge NKOTB fan, right?

Or DID you know that? LMAO - my layout.

I'm not really one any more. Why?

I loved them back when I was younger. They were huge and so was my heart; and ONLY for them. I knew their every move. I knew what country they were in. I followed every ( Read more... )

I feel ya. I traveled a lot to see the guys in concert. But then I had a baby 5 months ago & my priorities changed. I would no longer travel to see a concert- if they came to my area, then yes, I'd see them. But no more flights. No more trips. I have a baby now. She is more important obviously.

I've since "drifted" from my NK group of friends. They're still there... But again, they're on a different level than I am. They're still flying across the country to Boston & wherever else to see the same concert that will play in a city near them. I'm not hating at all, nor am I jealous. Just letting them fade from my life as my newborn daughter takes the #1 spot! :)

You're not alone. I totally feel where you're coming from & couldn't have said it better!

Begin Soapbox: I couldn't agree more....I'm so tired of seeing people beg for "twugs" & "follows". Although....I do believe I have been fortunate because I only have 1, maybe 2 people that regularly occur in my timeline that are like that. I'm excited to see both bands this summer with my niece, but if it wasn't her Christmas/Birthday/Graduation present from me, I probably wouldn't be going. I'm not made of money. Does that make me a bad fan? I'd like to think not since I still listen to their music & purchase what I can when I can. I constantly see others bitchin about the HS Drama that has unfolded over the last couple years & I just wanna say BLOCK EM! It's your twitter/facebook/blog/whatever account. I really do think we are at the end of this "reunion". Shows are not selling out & the cruise isn't even sold out.....Is it bad that I'm kinda hoping they do take a break after this NKOTBSB thing? I think they deserve it. 'Nuff said. /End Soapbox

I've felt like this for a long time. I've been made to feel like a second class fan because I don't get over excited at each piece of news. I simply cannot afford to buy every piece of merchandise, pre-order every little thing and certainly not cross half the world for a concert. I'm not even counting the cruise, it's about 3 months wages for me. That so isn't going to happen! If they were to cross the Atlantic to the UK (which I don't think they'll do) I may not even go to a concert because of the travel and hotel costs I would have to pay on top of the ticket price. I would try to go but I wouldn't make it the be-all and end-all and I certainly wouldn't run into debt to do so ( ... )

I do understand where you're coming from; it's one of the reasons I quit Twitter and the message boards. I don't really care who has the most tickets/merchandise/@replies/whatever, I'd just be happy if they came back to the UK at some point.
