Alright, I got involved in a conversation at RAM tonight over some drinks, and I thought it could be something interesting to ask on LJ. So here goes. (I know I've been absent for a while. I should update on real life sometime soon ( Read more... )

Hmm... I'm horrible with creative ideas for dates that I barely know. But, I suppose the best one I've done was when, my at the time girlfriend was about to head off to school the next day. As kind of a last hurrah, I took her to the beach late at night with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries that I made myself. Kind of cheesy, but it was a good time.

that's way cool. Much better than a dinner/movie date. I'm just sayin that there needs to be some effort in there somewhere. I think that us guys need to go out of our way occasionally to show a girl a good time.

I think girls are fairly simple about that sort of thing. We don't expect much, so therefore any little bit above the norm is greatly appreciated. I wouldn't want a guy on a first or second date to go all out, because it would be uncomfortable. But in terms of relationships, if a guy pays attention, they'll get tons of ideas from their girlfriend. We always throw things out that we want to go do or see. And showing that you listened to us is HUGE bonus points. :-)

Is this all mental masturbation right now or are you trying to come up with ideas for a particular girl? ;-) Honestly, I long for the day when I'm in a relationship again and trying to come up with fun and creative things to do.

The best date I ever went on were the entire 8 days I spent with who is now one of my best friends, driving to-staying in-driving home from Florida. We've never really considered ourselves more than friends, but at the time, every night was like another date, the next better than the last. I guess we still think of it that way, even though we've moved on.

And as for the second question, the greatest gift I've been given was a handmade Navajo dreamcatcher necklace (from the same guy with whom I went to Fla). It wasn't so much the necklace, but the fact that months and months prior I had been trying fruitlessly to find a real dreamcatcher for myself. I never found one, but then at Christmas he gave me the dreamcatcher necklace and I can wear it whenever I please.

It's the little things like that, that seem to matter most. He could have drawn a sloppy picture of a dreamcatcher, and I would have loved it just as much.

Hah.

Man, I am so mushy tonight. ;P

Mushy. You know. Like sensitive, soft to the touch. Squishy?

Okay, haha, maybe not. ;) The best way I can think to describe my personal mushiness is simply, "girly." But as long as I'm a girl, I think that's A-okay.

;D

The best date I've ever been on was with a complete stranger. I was running late and missed this gallery exhibit I wanted to see on its last night in town. I went for coffee next door, met him, and he ended up talking our way into the gallery. Then we just walked around downtown Austin getting acquainted and eating Roppollo's pizza.
The best gift I ever received... hmmm.. one guy I dated was broke on my birthday, so he spent a night centered around: gave me a back rub, washed my hair, watched movies only I liked, and made me pancakes for dinner.

those are pretty neat. I'd love to have more spur-of-the moment stuff. It can really end up being fun.
