Arrival.

This is not what I expected to see when I died.  The people who work here seem somewhat helpful, although it is unnecessary for them to do anything for me.  Reliance on others for anything is a sign of weakness I cannot afford.

This place is called Desai?  The name sounds familiar but I am not sure, perhaps my Watcher mentioned it in training.

You came here because you died? How strange.

I have no idea why I came here or how. I am just here.

So you were dead as well?

Where in Desai did you wake up?

I was killed before I came to this place, yes. It was in that building, the travel agency.

Welcome to the city! It is called Desai, and you're not alone in arriving here alive again. I know a few people who've done that, actually!

You're very welcome! I hope you found a good place to stay... I think there's a way to find places to eat and hotels on the little device that the Agency gives you when you arrive.

Can't afford? There's taxes on relying on others now?

spry_corpse October 20 2009, 18:38:46 UTC
...There's not a tax collector for that here, right?

I mean, that would be a pretty hard thing to police.

Or at least I think it would be.

Not to mention kind of unfair.

Though I guess anything's possible nowadays.
