If you are forced to walk to work because the storm is so bad, what is the likelihood that the company's phones would even be in working order (or the building would have power, or have functioning computers)?

And yep, that seems to be the mindset of the local management. I'm still holding out that our CEO will give us different directions sometime tonight. He's in Dallas and doesn't have the same short sightedness others seem to.
As for walking, they didn't come out and say it, but they did say 'Well, if the roads are too flooded, you only live 2 miles from here, so you should be able to get here.' I assumed that to mean walking, though maybe they meant some other way.
