Nick and I took my sister and her kids (7 & 9 yrs old) to the Science Centre yesterday. We watched a pretty good Disney IMAX film about the Mars rovers, and we spent a lot of time in the KidSpark, which is a big play area with enormous toys such as a mini-supermarket with working cash registers ( Read more... )

Oh man! I haven't checked out Kidspark yet, because I haven't gone with any kids. It's a lot different than when I spent many hours there in high school. Did you stop by the amateur radio booth? Probably not! Some parts of the OSC have always been neglected. There used to be a computer with a Hypercard stack in The Living Earth that was there when it first opened, and it let you choose a skill level for the mystery. Of course, if you chose Medium or Hard it would tell you those were coming soon. Years later, they were still coming soon. Then it disappeared.

We didn't check out the amateur radio booth, sadly.

They have corridors named after all the banks! One was glowing and made me a little nauseous. And projected cubes on the ground that flipped over when you walked on them! Talk about the future!
